For members who are only interested in protecting the major electromechanical appliances in their home such as the refrigerator, washer, dryer, range, dishwasher, etc., the cooperative offers the Basic Surge Protection Plan. For $4.95 per month added to your electric bill we will install a whole house surge protector on your electric meter which offers excellent protection for these "white" appliances. This is less than 17 cents per day and not only covers the cost of the surge protector and installation, but also all future maintenance. |

For members who want to go one step further and protect the sensitive electronic equipment in their home such as a computer, television, stereo, telephone, answering machine, clock radio, etc., the cooperative offers the Premium Surge Protection Plan. For an initial investment of $49.95 and a monthly payment of $5.95 on your electric bill you will receive a point of use surge protection package in addition to the installation of the whole house surge protector. This package includes four individual point of use surge protectors that can be used to protect a television, entertainment center or computer center, a cordless telephone or answering machine and two or three other pieces of electronic equipment. This kit also includes a handy circuit receptacle tester to let you know if your home grounding is adequate or if changes need to be made to assure proper protection. |

In addition to the devices provided with
the two monthly programs the cooperative also offers additional point of use protection
devices for your computer, television, satellite dish and other electronic
equipment. These devices can be purchased at very reasonable prices and can be added to
either the Basic or Premium Surge Protection Plan to provide protection for additional
equipment in your home. All surge protection devices come with a lifetime warranty
on the device as well as repair or replacement warranties for the equipment they are
protecting. Lightning is very unpredictible and can enter your home not only on the electrical service, but also through a phone line, cable television line, satellite dish or antenna. With these individual devices installed on your telephone, computer, television, etc. in addition to having protection at your electric meter, you will be able to rest easy the next time a storm is in the area. |
