Illinois ACRE
is YOUR statewide political action committee established by rural electric cooperative members and leaders to preserve and protect the interests of the rural electrification program in our state. When YOU become a member of' National ACRE, YOU also become a member of Illinois ACRE.Illinois ACRE is involved in local and statewide political activities. Its primary, purpose is to be a strong political voice for YOU and all rural electric member-consumers on local and statewide political issues which involve your cooperative.
YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS - - - Annual dues as a regular member of ACRE are $25. A $100 contribution to ACRE entitles the member to become a "Century Club" member. Half of your membership contribution is used by National ACRE to support those congressional leaders and candidates who support the goals and objectives of electric cooperatives and rural citizens. A small percentage of each membership contribution is used to defray the costs of operating the ACRE program, for such items as postage and printing. Once these administrative costs have been recovered, one half of the total dues of all members from within the State of Illinois is returned to Illinois ACRE.
Funds in Illinois ACRE are used solely to support state and local candidates for public office who support your local cooperative and YOU, its members. Illinois ACRE also has a direct influence on which congressional candidates are given consideration and support through the National ACRE program.
Illinois ACRE is bipartisan and makes contributions to Republican and Democratic candidates who have indicated by their voting records or other methods their support for the needs of electric cooperatives and all rural citizens of the state.
YOUR VOICE - - - Illinois ACRE allows YOU to have a direct voice in those political issues which affect your cooperative. By becoming an ACRE member you become directly involved in helping to elect those persons that can best serve the needs of YOUR cooperative and help to enhance the standard of living for YOU and your neighbors at home.
YOUR ORGANIZATION - - - The activities of Illinois ACRE are governed by a Board of Directors which is elected annually by members of Illinois ACRE. Local involvement and control of Illinois ACRE by YOU and your fellow members make it a strong grassroots organization that can make a difference when it comes to electing candidates who will support the ideals of YOU and your cooperative.
YOUR INVOLVEMENT - - - Your membership in ACRE allows YOU to have a greater involvement and impact upon the political activities in your local area and thoughout Illinois than you as an individual might otherwise have.
YOUR CHOICE - - - Become involved and have your say in the political process which elects those national, state and local leaders who are making decisions which directly affect you, your family and your cooperative. Through your membership in ACRE you do have a choice -. Join ACRE today.
For better coordination of the ACRE program in Illinois, Illinois supporters are requested to mail their membership applications and personal checks for dues, payable to "ACRE," to Illinois ACRE, P.O. Box 3787, Springfield, IL 62708. Corporate checks cannot be accepted.
A copy of Illinois ACRE's report is filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections and is available for public inspection.
