Youth To Washington Tour
The Youth to Washington Tour has been
sponsored for 50 years by electric and telephone cooperatives across the United
States. The tour is well organized with good chaperones and is recognized as one
of the best youth tours of Washington, D.C.
Participants will visit places such
as Gettysburg; Arlington National Cemetery; the Iwo Jima, Lincoln, Jefferson,
Korean War, Vietnam War, World War II, U.S. Marine Corps. and Franklin Delano
Roosevelt Memorials; the Washington Monument; The Newseum, Holocaust,
Smithsonian Air and Space, American History and Natural History Museums; the
Saudi Arabia Embassy; and the National Archives. Students will also see the U.S.
Capitol Building and meet Illinois Congressmen, Senators and their staffs.
